Seasonal Horticultural Labourer Job Description:

Oz Group Co Op is seeking 300 Seasonal Fruit Pickers to join our team for the 2023-24 berry season. Our farmers grow blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.

A Fruit Picker’s duties include general farm maintenance and labor, planting, pruning, picking, and packing berries. 

The work is physically demanding and will involve bending down and bending over, lifting, carrying containers of berries, and being on your feet for long periods of time. Work will be outdoors in both hot and humid conditions and cold weather depending on the season. 

Our season is 7 months and commences in July. Work days are usually Monday to Saturday from 7am – 5 pm. Weekend availability is a requirement of these positions. Pickers will be paid as per the Horticulture Award, Level 1 Casual.

Our farm locations are from Macksville in the South to Grafton in the North of the Coffs Coast.

The most important details in this text are the requirements for up to 60 hardworking, physically fit & reliable workers to work in the upcoming fruit and vegetable harvesting season, approximately 25 km from Griffith, NSW. Candidates must be available Mon to Fri with a potential of extra weekend work as needed by the grower. They must be willing to undertake all other onsite general farm duties as directed by the grower and able to work in the Griffith NSW region. Manual picking of fruit and/or vegetables according to size, color, and ripeness. Discarding of rotting and over ripened fruit and/or vegetables as instructed. Physically demanding work with long hours in all weather conditions.

Attention to detail, high concentration level, and good eyesight (no color blindness) are essential. You may be required to sort fruit and/or vegetables into different grade standards. Outdoor/indoor work which can be very hot and dry OR wet. Regular heavy lifting (6-12kg) and constant walking, bending, and straightening. Gentle but fast hands are needed. The ability to follow instructions is essential.

Casual flat rate based on Modern Horticultural Award 2020. No public transport is available.  Work is offered through an agency on a casual basis.

Citrus Picking Jobs in NSW:

The local farm is seeking the services of a Citrus Forklift Driver to work in the Tooleybuc area. This work is available for the 2023 season and will involve a range of duties, work will be predominantly driving a forklift in the packing shed, keeping bins of fruit up to the packing lines, and loading and unloading trucks. Applicants must be available to work 6-7 days per week depending on weather conditions, have their own reliable transport, and be physically fit and able to work in a variety of weather conditions. You must hold a current Australian forklift license for this role.

This work is paid under the Horticulture Award 2020. This work is suitable for people on working holiday visas wanting second year extensions (88 days of regional work).
