Experienced Electrican for Senior Leadership Role Job Details:

Hobson Electrical is a small Tasmanian electrical contracting company based in Cambridge. We specialise in domestic residential areas, generally new with some renovation work at spec and architectural levels. Most of this work is generated through building contractors with some smaller shop fits and warehouses.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Qualified Electrician to join our team in a leadership role. The role is primarily tools based with some minor admin work, and a high level of responsibility.

You will be working out of your own vehicle that you will be required to keep organised and tidy.

You will primarily coordinate and oversee medium to large singular domestic residential projects and multi dwelling developments. High attention to detail and significant organisational skills are essential.

General electrician duties (wiring, fit off, underground, fault finding etc) will still be a core component of the successful applicant’s position.

Responsibilities

You would be the leading electrician in charge of complex individual residential builds or larger scale multi dwelling developments

Organise and track job progress with the ability to effectively communicate any requests and requirements about the job

Build and maintain relationships with site supervisors

Supervision of electricians and apprentices on site

Ensuring the electrical scope is maintained and not exceeded

Ensure OWHS practices are adhered to

Attributes and Experience

Electrical Practitioner Licence – Minimum 4 years post apprenticeship – non-negotiable

Current driver’s licence (unrestricted)

Construction White Card

Excellent time management and organisation skills

Ability to interpret plans and written 3rd party instructions

Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail

Self-motivated, reliable, honest, and autonomous

A strong work ethic is essential

Able to direct and train apprentices

Desirable but not essential

12+ months experience in a leadership role

Previous experience with architectural plans

Previous experience using management software programs
