This role will design and lead the in-house Internal Audit team of PwC Canada to drive, develop, and communicate plans that enable our people to execute and embrace lasting transformation. This is an internal facing role focused on PwC Canada itself, as opposed to a client facing role within our Risk Assurance practice.
Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As Internal Audit Leader, you’ll lead a team of problem solvers to design and execute PwC Canada’s Internal Audit Plan that aligns with the firm’s overall strategy. This is a key position to empower our firm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead the Internal Audit function guided by a philosophy of adding value, minimizing risk, and improving operations of PwC Canada
Act as a champion to reinforce the culture of transparency, accountability, compliance, risk management, and strong governance
Report to Chief Risk & Resilience Officer, Enterprise Risk Management Committee and Partnership Board or designated committee
Responsible for creation and execution of PwC Canada annual Internal Audit plan
Implement strategic risk-based audits including conducting risk assessments and overseeing engagements for high risk, strategic areas which could include: pre-implementation system reviews, reviews of operational models, controls and processes to regulatory or compliance reviews. Examples of work underway range from talent risk management, review of ESG [economic, social and governance metrics] and trust KPIs, data protection and cyber security reviews.
Review of transformational initiatives and projects
Make insightful value-added recommendations to leaders to improve policies, processes, controls and management of risks to enable PwC Canada to meet it’s strategic objectives
Reimagine the possible to implement market leading innovative solutions and Internal audit industry best practices
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
CPA or equivalent (required), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) certification (preferred)
Extensive experience in audit, internal audit, compliance and/or risk management
Superior working knowledge of the application of data analytics through the IA delivery cycle (use of Workbench, PowerBI or Alteryx considered an asset)
Exceptional commitment to providing great client service and a demonstrated ability to produce high quality results
Advanced knowledge of Canadian auditing standards
Advanced knowledge of Institute of Internal Auditors standards and methodologies
Excellent judgement, professional skepticism and strong problem-solving skills, including a proactive approach to working with staff and management at all levels
A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
