The Manager of Group Living provides direct leadership, supervision, and support to the group living services team and oversees resource management within their assigned unit. The Manager of Group Living is responsible for creating a safe, positive, and therapeutic group living services environment. The Manager of Group Living ensures policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met. The Manager of Group Living leads the group living services team within a cross-functional, multidisciplinary, integrated, and collaborative model of treatment. The Manager of Group Living collaborates and communicates with the participants, the clinical team, the educational/vocational team, the group living services team, the administrative team, funding agencies, families, community resources, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education and Professional Certification

  • University degree in human services or related field of study.

Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.
  • Minimum four (4) years of management experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Services

  • Build positive partnerships with the Ministry of Social Services, Mobile Crisis, Regina Police Service, RCMP, Childrens Justice Centre, and Ministry of Corrections and Public Safety.
  • Develop and implement participant’s case plan.
  • Ensure the group living services team has input into the individual and group treatment.
  • Lead the implementation of the treatment plans including all aspects of participation in treatment program, coordination of documentation and records, and providing information and feedback to the families, funders, and all legitimate interested parties on behalf of the
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic
  • Ensure the quality of activity. Monitor and approve the group living services teams’ delivery of activity plans.
  • Ensure the participant’s needs are met in accordance with policy and procedures including safety, treatment, medication administration, healthcare, documentation, nutrition, chores, and hygiene.
  • Collaborate with and establish professional working relationships with internal and external.
  • Co-facilitate a weekly treatment group in collaboration with the clinical team as required.
  • Ensure the Behavior Management and Support Policy and Procedures are being followed.
  • Provide post-crisis response and debriefing follow-up and training.
  • Represent the team at all quarterly planning conferences, three-way educational conferences, and intake, transfer, and discharge meetings with stakeholders as required.
  • Participate in community events, agency activities, and other activities as other activities as required.
  • Ensure the group living services team’s documentation in permanent records, working papers, and intra-unit communications is complete and in compliance with agency standards.
  • Perform other related duties as related.

Leadership

  • Manage the group living services team within their unit including recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, and staff discipline.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and team development for all group living services employees of the unit including facilitating team meetings and individual supervisions; overseeing and providing training and development plans; completing evaluations, reviews, and when applicable, performance improvement plans; participating in employee relations issues and investigations; providing post-crisis debriefing; and providing advice and consultation.
  • Responsible to ensure direct reports have completed mandatory.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and agency standards are being followed.

Management of Resources

  • Schedule all employees of the unit using agency approved systems for 24/7/365 coverage for the participants of the unit. Manage and update the schedules as required including approving paid time off (PTO) requests, filling open shifts, and addressing staffing requirements.
  • Effective stewardship of assigned assets and resources required for the delivery of the group living services treatment program including building(s), vehicles(s), furnishings, and ensure the timely communication with Property Management for the needed maintenance, repairs, and replacement of those assets.
  • Provide input into the operational Participate in the development of the yearly unit operating plan and capital plans. Ensure expenditures are in accordance with the approved operating plan.
  • Responsible for timely resource projections and expense.

Additional Requirements

The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.

Employees must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.

Wage Range: $81,203 – $104,977.60 Annually
