About the Position
The Centre for Technology, Environment and Design seeks a sessional instructor to teach in the Agriculture Sciences (Animal Science) diploma. Reporting to Associate Dean of the Centre for Technology, Environment & Design, the successful candidate will be responsible for instruction of the following courses in the School of Agriculture Science:
Fall 2023 semester:
- BIO-1175 Animal Science, 2 lecture sections, (3 hours each)
- BIO-2263 Animal Physiology I, 1 lecture and 1 lab (3 hours lecture; 2 hours lab)
Winter 2024:
- BIO-2264 Animal Physiology II, 1 lecture and 1 lab (3 hours lecture; 2 hours lab)

Course delivery is face-to-face during the day. There is no option for remote teaching for these courses.
Sessional contract, start and end dates:
- Fall 2023: August 28th- December 22, 2023
- Winter 2024: January 2- May 3, 2024
Lethbridge College offers instructor training opportunities. The New Instructor Orientation Program (NIOP) runs August 8-August 18, and is optional, but strongly encouraged.
Position Details
The successful candidate will fulfill responsibilities such as the preparation and teaching of course sections within the animal science diploma. The successful candidate will also:
- Be self-motivated and able to work positively in a team environment.
- Engage as a member of a larger faculty team in the development and implementation of course related or curricular initiatives.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Possesses strong instructional and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students of varying skill levels.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum educational background is a degree in the field of animal science
- Master degree preferred
- Post-secondary teaching experience is considered an asset

Salary Commensurate with education and experience according to the Lethbridge College, Faculty Collective Agreement
