Harvest season is just around the corner, and Bayou Sugar Growers is looking for a large, dedicated team of professional truck drivers to help us bring in this year’s sugarcane crop.

Your main responsibility will be operating our farm trucks to safely haul harvested sugarcane along Louisiana highways from our farm sites straight to the milling facility. When you aren’t on the road, you’ll also help out with operating other farm equipment (like combines and harvesters), keeping the vehicles maintained, and pitching in with hands-on farm labor when needed to keep operations moving smoothly.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

To keep up with the harvest, we run two main shifts (you will only be assigned to one shift per day, Monday through Friday):

• Early Shift: 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
• Late Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Note: While Mother Nature or mechanical breakdowns can sometimes cause hours to fluctuate, we proudly offer a 3/4 work guarantee over the life of your contract—meaning you can count on your guaranteed hours regardless of temporary downtime.

What We Are Looking For

This is a physically demanding role in a fast-paced environment. To join our team, you’ll need:

• Experience: At least 2 months of experience driving heavy trucks/tractors.
• Licensing: A valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or its international equivalent.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the day (climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and bending).
• Safety First: Because safety on the road and the farm is our top priority, all hired workers may be subject to random, employer-paid drug testing.
