The Future Talent Program features Co-op opportunities that last up to six (6) months. As a Clinical Research & Development (R&D) Co-op at our Company Animal Health, you will have the unique opportunity to gain direct experience and make a meaningful impact on cutting-edge Animal Health R&D projects. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will actively contribute to various aspects of veterinary clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols. Through this co-op, you will gain invaluable exposure to the fields of veterinary clinical research, product development and regulatory affairs, enhancing your skills in research methodologies, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Position Description

Work location is mainly in our headquarters in Rahway NJ, working alongside our Clinical Scientists, Monitors and Specialists supporting the planning, conduct and reporting of Clinical Trials. These trials will support the regulatory approval of new companion animal and livestock products. These studies must be conducted in compliance with the requirements of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The main responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

Assist the Clinical Study Team with the selection of study sites, Investigators and laboratories.

Support the training of Investigator(s) and other study participants as appropriate, for the study protocol and procedures in accordance with GCP guidelines.

Prepare study documentation such as notebooks and Case Report Forms (CRFs), in collaboration with Study Team.

Help with the organization of shipments and submissions of study materials and samples as appropriate.

Support data reviews ensuring that illegible or missing data are explained and/or corrected.

Support the collection, entry, and verification of data from animal participants, including laboratory results, clinical assessments, and behavioral observations.

Collaborate with the team to monitor study progress, including conducting site visits, performing source data verification, and addressing data queries or discrepancies.

Required Education, Skills & Experience:

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Biology, Pathobiology, or veterinary-related fields

Candidates must have completed at least two (2) years of studies towards a Bachelor’s degree by June 2024

Candidates must be able to commit to full-time onsite employment (hybrid role 3:2) for 4 – 6 months beginning in the spring of 2024

Strong passion for veterinary medicine and a keen interest in clinical research.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.

Familiarity with veterinary clinical research principles and regulatory guidelines (e.g., IACUC protocols, FDA regulations) is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an aptitude for learning new software platforms and electronic data capture (EDC) systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver information effectively to diverse audiences.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to travel (up to 25% of the time) as required.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

Some direct Veterinary and/or Research experience is a strong plus

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$39,600.00-$105,500.00

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
