About the Role:

  • Operating a variety of agricultural machinery and implements, such as Sprayer, Headers, Air Seeder, Spreaders, etc for a 3,700Ha cropping program;
  • Cattle work (checking calving, feeding, drafting, marking);
  • Mechanical duties including maintenance of plant and equipment (not essential);
  • Additional cattle work at a smaller farm located 200 km away (with accommodation).

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in a cropping operation and confidently operating a range of machines;
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude;
  • Be a team player along with the ability to work unsupervised;
  • Previous cattle experience;
  • Flexibility with seasonal work and work hours;
  • Knowledge of Autosteer/GPS systems desirable (can provide training);
  • Mechanical knowledge desirable;
  • Manual class c motor vehicle licence (minimum);
  • HC truck license, or willingness to obtain (not essential);
  • Non-smokers preferred but not essential.

Located 30 minutes from Deniliquin in NSW, our client is seeking an experienced Stock/Farm Manager to join their family owned and operated progressive commercial sheep and cattle enterprise with some irrigated stock feed production.  The successful candidate will have a genuine interest and passion in working with sheep and cattle and undertaking all aspects of animal husbandry and general farm duties.

General Farm Hand in WA with Visa Sponsorship

Job Position: General Farm Hand

Location: Hyden, WA, 6359, Australia

Salary: $30-$40 per Hour depending on experience

A General Farm hand is required on a 4,000Ha mixed property located close to Hyden (292km southeast of Perth), in the Shire of Kondinin, and home to the famous Wave Rock. 

Good Things to Know:

About the Role:

Cropping:

  • 3,000Ha of (canola, barley, wheat, oat, lupins)
  • At least 1 year experience working a Harvest and able to:
    • Operate large broad acre machinery
    • Either operated sprayer or seeder at seeding
    • Operate a header at harvest

Livestock:

  • 4000 – 5000 mated ewes (lambing and Merino wool production)
  • Experience in working with Sheep including shearing, crutching, animal husbandry (drenching, tagging etc)
  • Feeding out
  • Fencing

General Farm duties:

  • All general farm hand duties associated with the day to day running of the property
  • Fencing
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Basic to moderate welding skills

About You:

  • Have previous experience working on a mixed property and sheep experience
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Work autonomously or in a team
  • Self motivated
