New Farm Deli is family-owned and family-run. Its humble beginnings began with a (recently migrated) three-member family providing New Farm and surrounds with fresh, Italian produce. Back then, a great deal of pride went in the provision of good-old-fashioned service and quality product. These values are still the chore of our operations today, except our team is now 80 strong boasting rich, multi-cultural individuals making up our modern NFDC family!

Experience is required as is a current RSA and ability to manage staff rostering and mentoring. A starting salary commensurate with the responsibility will be offered as well as regular reviews.
As a Café Restaurant Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operation of New Farm Deli & Café. The role will focus on setting and maintaining a high level of customer service, while following our current systems and procedures to a high standard.
Your responsibilities include:
To welcome, host and be the ambassador / the face of the business
Enhancing guest experience and increasing sales at all opportunities
Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service and handling complaints
Identifying operational shortfalls and implementing corrective actions
Maintaining operational policies and standard procedures
Recruiting, selecting, training, rostering, mentoring, motivating and managing both wait and kitchen staff
Planning menus in consultation with Chefs and owners
Planning and organizing special functions
Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
Managing financial transactions
Ensuring operational efficiency
Ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and RSA laws
Encouraging a positive work environment
Training service staff and rostering
Who We are Looking For
A degree in business management
Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
Proven leadership skills and experience in high volume operations
Professionalism – especially when under pressure
International hospitality experience
Ability to lead a large team
Be customer focused
Fine dining knowledge
Knowledge of fine wines – particularly, Italian, French and Australian
RMLV or willingness / ability to obtain
Social media marketing experience/knowledge
Sound knowledge and understanding of P.O.S terminals – inclusive of back-of-house /programming & operation
Exceptional personal presentation, communication skills and attention to details
Time management skills and be driven by ‘Lead by Example’ mantra
