Northern Allowance:

Reporting to the Dean, Trades and Technology; the Chair, Industry Training is responsible for the planning, direction, management, program delivery, administration and evaluation of all industry training programs across Nunavut. These include all Trades, such as Operators, Technicians, Culinary Arts, etc. in addition to industry training related trades occupations.

The Chair will have a strategic focus on building new partnerships with industry sectors (i.e. mining) and be able to lead the coordination of community-based courses and programs.

The Chair works with industry organizations and businesses to address their training needs and determines the level of support that is required by NAC. These contract engagements can be from short to long-term depending on the training and accreditation required.

Typically, the incumbent will have a University Degree and/or a professional designation in a Trade or Technology related field. A Master’s Degree in a field related to trades or technology is preferred. With a minimum 3 years in the following areas of education programming for adult learners; knowledge of program development and program evaluation methods; minimum of 2 years direct experience managing staff (faculty) evaluation and performance management; experience in preparing and managing a large budget. Professional Teaching Credentials would be a definite asset.

Equivalencies consisting of a combination of related education and work experience may be considered.
