Reporting to: Sales Manager

The position of Student Recruitment Officer (SRO) has been identified in DBS.

This Student Recruitment Officer has responsibility for the development and implementation of marketing/sales plans and the achievement of budgeted targets in the areas of Part time Undergraduate programmes, Postgraduate programmes & Government Initiative programmes.

They will present and review plans and performance reports with the Sales Manager and/or other Senior Management on a regular basis and will contribute to evolving strategies for future student recruitment through their area of remit.

Depending on market demands and time of year, you may also be expected to work in other recruitment areas.

The SRO for Postgraduate, Part time Degrees, & Government Initiative Programmes will report directly to the Sales Manager and will have a high level of day-to-day autonomy in discharging his/her responsibilities.

Responsibilities

The specific responsibilities of the Student Recruitment Officer will include the following:

Achievement of student revenue targets;

Management of a customer service ethos throughout the recruitment and admissions process of these programmes;

Follow up on all admission statuses of offers and leads for each recruitment area by phone, email or any other communication tool deemed appropriate;

Call Campaigns on lead generation and applicants;

Liaising with a team of admissions administration staff to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are consistently met;

Organisation and provision of a comprehensive and streamlined information service, and management and development of relationships with all targeted and potential applicants;

Organisation, management and supervision of customer friendly recruitment, admission and selection processes, and advising and guiding applicants through these processes;

Planning, organisation and execution of marketing campaigns and marketing activities in conjunction with the Sales Manager and the Marketing Manager;

Assisting in the marketing and promotion of part-time degree, postgraduate and Government Initiative programmes;

Assisting in the planning and organisation of appropriate market research projects to guide development strategies and inform course planning and development processes;

Assisting in the production /proof reading of marketing materials for relevant programmes within the recruitment area;

Attending, planning, and assisting in the organisation and co-ordination of Open Events, Information Sessions and other promotional events including external events;

Present DBS programmes regularly both in-person & online to Corporate partner/Employers, Open Events, Information sessions etc.

Foster strong & long term relationships with Corporate organisations/Employers & other relevant bodies, both current & potential with a view of promotion of all relevant programmes;

Monitoring, evaluating and responding to trends, developments, threats and opportunities in third level education;

Pursue new opportunities / partnerships through networking or other appropriate means;

Assisting in preparation of tenders/calls for proposals for the Government initiatives and others as identified;

Website Checks to ensure accurate and up to date content;

Development and management of relationships with key market contact groups;

Identification of key personnel responsible for driving Learning and Development initiatives in relevant companies with a view to develop opportunities;

Make outgoing calls to potential clients for specified courses/programmes and campaigns;

Work on additional recruitment channels if required and as delegated by management;

Follow up on all possible leads & applications and convert into students where possible;

Attend internal and external meetings and pitches as required by business and team;

To prepare regular reports for the Sales Manager and/or other Senior management as requested. This may include preparation of reports for external bodies such as HEA where necessary;

Ad hoc duties as required by Management.

Working Relationships:

The management of successful working relationships will be an integral aspect of the role. This will include:

Development and management of relationships with academic management, including regular interaction with academic management in the College;

Cooperation with the Academic Affairs Office and the Admissions Office;

Liaising with marketing colleagues in Kaplan as appropriate.

Requirements:

Must have a minimum of a Primary Honours Degree;

Ideally 3+ years sales & account management experience;

Committed to & enthusiastic about achieving goals & targets;

Comfortable & natural presenter who can hold the attention of their audience both in-person & online as needed;

Customer centric outlook & actively looks at ways to enhance customer satisfaction

Strives to deliver high standards and high-quality work at all times;

Ability to work autonomously & manage own time with workload effectively;

Ability to deal with high volumes at key periods;

Ability to work as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives;

Flexible approach to work;

Ability to prioritise, plan and effectively meet deadlines;

Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication with report writing skills.
