Insect Control Portfolio Manager Job Details:
- Develop, execute and continually evolve strategies for Insecticide products and for overall portfolio (product & portfolio design, positioning, pricing, promotions for sales, profitability and market share for the 5-year plan)
- Develop and execute compelling brand and crop plans based on deep understanding of drivers and assumptions of growers, crops, markets, channel
- Develop winning portfolio strategies based on internal (pipeline, country strategy) and external (social, technological, economic, environmental, political) dynamics
- Design and launch new product introductions (NPI) to quickly establish new brands and to accelerate peak sales
- Leverage data and digital platforms to build brand loyalty through clear segmentation and targeting campaigns; different Syngenta from the rest of the industry
- Set clear direction from brand categorization perspective for the insecticide’s portfolio at country level, develop brand and portfolio strategies for assigned active ingredients from portfolio development perspective
- Lead development of 5-year brand and crop plans defining portfolio evolution, product launches, product positioning & pricing approach, setting clear direction to countries.
- Lead assigned PH Portfolio leadership forums (PLTs) ensuring buy-in and full support from cross functional teams to drive implementation of portfolio plans, ensure R&D budgets are in place.
- Work closely with countries for new brand launches, ensure NPI processes are being followed, participate in the important events of NPI process – co-create the launch strategy and deliver NPI successfully.
- Develop, manage, and implement Product Life-cycle Management strategy and actions in collaboration with 3rd party team – brand ladder, license in and out direction.
Qualifications
Fungicide lead – Knowledge, experience, and capabilities
- Knowledge of basics of marketing
A clear view on basic principles of marketing, understanding of the customer behaviors and how crop, portfolio strategies can be planned to address the customer pain points. * Skills to influence cross functional teams
Fungicide lead should be able to influence various key stakeholders to make quick decisions/choices and get stakeholders moving down the execution path. * A proven history of getting things done.
Past experience of both strategy influence and execution remains critical for this role, co-creating the strategy with teams along with roadmap and then leveraging team to execute the plans * A track record of decisiveness.
Role needs the leader to effectively influence decisions, balancing the trade-offs keeping in mind long-term results.
Critical experience
- Qualification in marketing
- Agriculture background preferred.
- 7-10 years’ experience in marketing & sales roles in the crop protection and/or FMCG industries
- Experience of leading cross functional teams in region/country
- Successful track record of delivering results – at least past three years
- Proven team leadership, influencing skills and working with cross functional teams
- Trust of others, being decisive, taking risk
- Should be or become certified MaSE professional within one year of taking this role.
