Job Description Manager, Poultry, Food Innovation & Technology

The Manager, Poultry maintains and improves the quality of Brand Standard products, while developing new ones; by partnering with Food Innovation and Technology (FIT) managers around the world as well as multiple poultry suppliers to ensure the safety, quality, and consistency of poultry products delivered to restaurants.

Responsibilities

• Drives Global Poultry Innovation and Technology strategy, goals, and priorities while partnering with Food safety and Quality Assurance to meet standards.
• Partner with Global Poultry Product Managers or FIT/QA leaders around the world to meet current Poultry Brand Standard specifications.
• Develop new poultry products to increase the Core menu. i.e. new chicken fillet, chicken nuggets, 9pz cut within different weight ranges.
• Supports poultry commercialization initiatives, spec review and supply chain initiatives as guided by Global Sr. Manager.
• Manages relationship with multiple poultry suppliers through the market counterparts.
• Develop a monitor & performance system to ensure compliance to specifications and QA Programs by markets. Drives follow up and corrective action plans on all critical issues with them.
• Manages specification updates ensuring all markets comply and meet product design requirements and global/local regulations.
• Monitors raw material supply and demand trends to establish changes in Global specifications that can positively impact the business; assists development of contingency plans for such occurrences.
• Identifies opportunities for product/process improvements through root cause and trend analysis and establish processes to monitor suppliers performance against key metrics.
• Drives Global Poultry Colleges to drive quality improvements for ingredients and participate in Product Excellence & Taste Colleges.
• Approve and validate chicken setpoints in new equipment.
• Lead and support team in Global Food demos.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education/Certifications Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science, Food Science or related scientific field. M.S./PhD. Preferred.
• 10 years food industry experience in poultry QA, Production, Processing and/or R&D minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to define global strategies, lead a cross-functional team by building alliances and becoming a team player and guide poultry suppliers.
• Must be able to anticipate and identify potential challenges and recommend course of action to resolve them.
• Must be able to create and present material in composed and self-assured manner
• Demonstrated success in talent management and assessment
• Exceptional product management experience, application of principle, practices, and procedures within area of specialization
• Willing to travel up to 40%
• Ability to plan, prioritize, lead and execute multiple projects within timelines and budgets
• Must demonstrate sound judgement and exceptional reasoning skills
