About the opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic Project Manager to successfully deliver a diverse range of capital projects, to help us deliver our Long-Term Plan (LTP) for our communities. From the preliminary design phase to project completion, you will be responsible for managing scope, procurement, risks, issues, and dependencies. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed within specified timelines and allocated budgets, while maximising their benefits.

This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week with flexibility to work around your lifestyle. You can be based at either our Mangawhai or Dargaville office, and we welcome hybrid work-from-home arrangements that ensure a great work-life balance for our people.

About You

You will have experience in managing large infrastructure projects, with excellent leadership and communication skills. Building rapid working relationships and influencing at all levels are strengths of yours, and you take pride in your great attention to detail and technical aptitude. You possess strong creative problem-solving skills and can effectively prioritise and multitask in a busy and dynamic environment.

In addition, you will have:

  • 3+ years’ demonstrated experience in infrastructure project management
  • A relevant certification and/or qualification in civil engineering and Project Management (preferred)
  • Experience in the procurement and management of professional services and capital works contracts (including a strong understand of procurement principles)
  • Experience managing project finance and budgets
  • Experience managing contractors and building and maintaining excellent relationships

This position is primarily involved in the delivery or support of waters services and the successful applicant will have the right to transfer to Wai Tāmaki ki Te Hiku, the Auckland and Northland water services entity (WSE) (or another entity or subsidiary if that is where your work will be carried out), when it is established, on 1 July 2024. This role is covered by a ‘Legislated Job Guarantee’ under the Water Services Entities Act 2022. The successful applicant will be guaranteed a position in the Wai Tāmaki ki Te Hiku WSE that has the same or similar duties and responsibilities to this position.
