The McCain Global Sustainability Team monitors sustainability issues, trends and our organizational impacts. They regularly consider our stakeholder consultations and work with research partners and industry forums. They also benchmark against industry standards.

Position Summary

The Technology team has an important role to play in enabling sustainable business practices across the organization. Building sustainability as a competitive advantage requires integrating technology and data from the very beginning. Technology can be a major accelerator to advance sustainability initiatives broadly.

We are seeking a Senior Manager who can partner with Sustainability leaders at McCain, to enable the realization of their goals and strategy.

The ideal candidate is someone with great knowledge and experience on the subject matter, committed to customer service, with strong sense of leadership, who is able to have conversations with Senior Leaders and be able to influence their thinking.

In this role, you will help the business identify technology solutions, infrastructure, and innovative ways of working that can speed up the sustainability journey across multiple regions.

You will help deliver projects and enhancements, and will be responsible for resolving user challenges. You may need to partner with external vendors to manage resolution of complex problems.

Duties and responsibilities

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Lead and Manage technology initiatives that support McCain’s Sustainability pillars and goals.
  • Research and propose game changing technology and digital thinking that will help drive the Global Sustainability team’s agenda.
  • Identify sustainability metrics, reporting, and real time monitoring opportunities that can be incorporated across all portfolios to track and optimize operations.
  • Help implement advanced analytics that would enable our leaders to make data-driven decisions to optimize operations and reduce the environmental footprint.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Be a single point of contact for the Global Sustainability team.
  • Establish a good rapport and collaboration with Sustainability leaders globally as well as with Global Technology colleagues.
  • Be a trusted partner for business stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships and establish partnership with strategic vendors.
  • Establish a Center of Excellence to communicate and prioritize business initiatives.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and proactively explore and communicate industry trends and technology advancements that will significantly accelerate the achievement of the Sustainability team objectives and move McCain ahead of the competition.

Team Management and Project Delivery

  • Coach and Develop team members.
  • Manage objectives, priorities, and performance of direct reports.
  • Manage team’s capacity to ensure effective delivery of solutions as per commitments.
  • Participate in project team meetings to discuss status, risks, and mitigation strategies across delivery teams.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Product owner in the creation and maintenance of roadmaps and technology product plans.
  • Ensure compliance of established Technology Governance, processes and policies.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Technology / Sustainability / Industrial Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Agriculture / Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working within an agile project delivery framework
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment dealing with both internal and external customers, including cross functional teams
  • Experience with Global business teams

Abilities and skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and functional team members in addition to business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and capable of applying it.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to collaborate with both, business and IT teams, to define a business problem and refine the requirements.
  • Flexibility to balance competing initiatives, multi-task between project development and customer support, and adapt to changing business and technical requirements.
  • Good judgment, a sense of urgency, and commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.
  • Strong drive to stay current with industry best practices and trends.
