Workforce Development Coordinator Job Details:

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

LOCATION: INUVIK, NT

POSITION STATUS: FULL-TIME (37.5 HOURS PER WEEK)

The GTC is seeking a highly motivated individual to work in partnership with Employment Officers and an in accordance with relevant policies, program guidelines and directives to promote, deliver and monitor workforce development opportunities to Participants of the Gwich’in Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement ( GCLCA). The core responsibilities of this position include:

1. Program Administration – administer all workforce development programs in accordance with Gwich’in values (Respect, Honesty, Our Stories, Honor, Laughter, Kindness, Sharing & Caring);

2. Program Delivery- contribute values and leadership in the design and delivery of education and training programs for Gwich’in Participants;

3. Partnerships – build effective partnerships to ensure coordination of programs and alignment with common labour market goals;

4. Database Administration – maintain client database with updated personal, training and education information;

5. Career Services – provide career and employment counseling to Participants; and,

6. Advisory – Provides person-centered, inclusive, trauma-informed services and supports on available education and training programs, employment opportunities and potential funding sources.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A College Diploma in Career Development, Education or Social Science plus two (2) years of working in a career development or related field;
  • 1-2 years of related program administration experience;
  • Equivalencies ( combinations of education and experience) may be considered;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Basic computer skills in a Microsoft Office operating environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Note), Email, Database applications and Internet; and,
  • A valid Class 5 Drivers License.

COMPENSATION

A competitive salary starting at $81,600 and an additional benefits package will be offered including a northern allowance, health and dental benefits, and generous leave entitlements.
