1st Class Welders Job Details:

Fulltime permanent positions available for immediate start for workshop and site work in the North East region of Tasmania, Australia.

The Role:

Kempe Engineering is currently seeking to employ First Class Welders for our site maintenance and specialist services in our George Town branch facility based in North East Region of Tasmania,

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Recognized trade qualification in welding / fabrication having completed and apprenticeship or accredited qualification.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on sites either heavy industry or mining

Meet zero harm culture and behaviors

Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical, and random screenings.

Current driver’s license

Skills:

Interpret fabrication drawings and specifications

Trade qualification to AS 1796 certificate standard

Must be competent in FCAW, GMAW, SAW and GTAW welding process

Must be able to pass 6GR weld test

Honest, reliable, positive attitude and able to promote a positive work culture

Be able to examine and review welds (specifically, width of bead, penetration and precision)

Use various methods (filing, polishing, chiseling and grinding to clean/smooth welds and finish products)
