Job Position: Chicken Farmer

Chicken Farmer Job Details:
Companies are currently seeking experienced and dedicated individuals to join our team as Chicken Farmers in Australia. As a Chicken Farmer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of poultry farming operations, ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of the chickens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Care and Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the health, cleanliness, and welfare of the chickens, including feeding, watering, and checking for any signs of illness or distress. Ensure proper ventilation, temperature, and lighting conditions in the chicken houses.
- Breeding and Hatching: Manage the breeding program, including selecting and pairing birds, collecting and storing eggs, and overseeing the incubation and hatching process. Monitor the growth and development of the chicks.
- Feeding and Nutrition: Develop and implement feeding programs to meet the nutritional needs of the chickens at different stages of growth. Evaluate the quality and availability of feed and make adjustments as necessary.
- Egg Production and Collection: Monitor egg production and ensure appropriate collection, grading, and packaging procedures are followed. Maintain accurate records of egg production and quality.
- Disease Prevention and Biosecurity: Implement biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases and minimize the risk of infection. Administer vaccines and medications as required. Follow all relevant regulations and guidelines for poultry farming.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain and repair equipment, chicken houses, and other infrastructure. Ensure proper functioning of water, heating, ventilation, and feeding systems. Keep the farm clean and organized.
- Data Collection and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of flock performance, including production levels, mortality rates, feed consumption, and any other relevant data. Analyze the data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
- Staff Supervision: Manage a team of farm workers, providing guidance, training, and supervision as necessary. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in poultry farming or related agricultural field is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of chicken breeds, behavior, and specific health and nutritional needs.
- Strong understanding of biosecurity measures and disease prevention strategies.
- Ability to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
- Excellent observational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor and work in varying weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and data analysis.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
