Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

Located in mining camps, we are looking for a housekeeper supervisor to join our team. Operating on a schedule of 14 days of work followed by 14 days of leave (fly-in/fly-out), travel is provided from Montreal and Val d’Or.

Reporting directly to the Camp Supervisor, the Housekeeping supervisor is responsible for supervising, planning and organizing the housekeeping teams. He/she must welcome, integrate and train new employees. He/she must ensure that quality standards are met and maintained. He/she must also carry out daily inspections and follow up with the teams.

The duties and responsibilities of the person occupying the position of Housekeeper supervisor include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following tasks:

  • Supervise all housekeeping and maintenance teams
  • Hold daily health and safety meetings;
  • Ensure that company standards are met by training employees in line with our quality program;
  • Welcome, integrate and train employees with the appropriate leaders;
  • Plan and organize shifts according to demand and shift changes;
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable quality control and quality assurance requirements through daily inspections and visits;
  • Ensure that inspection results are presented to teams for training and continuous improvement;
  • Participate in daily maintenance tasks as required;
  • Disciplinary follow-up collaboration with the camp manager.
  • Oversee daily operations and supervise the camp team;
  • All other tasks as required.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in team management;
  • Experience in conflict and human resources management;
  • English;
  • WHMIS 2015;
  • Experience in regional or remote labor camps is an asset;
  • Be able and willing to travel and work in remote areas on a regular rotation basis.

SKILLS

  • Knowledge of indigenous/Inuit dynamics is a major asset;
  • Stress management;
  • Ability to react calmly, to be composed and to listen;
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and works effectively with shifting priorities and other rapid, sudden changes;
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interact and communicate with others;
  • Enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives.
