Machinery Analysis Technician Job Details:

As a Machinery Analysis Technician, you will perform condition monitoring by acquiring and analyzing data. Your understanding of condition monitoring data, machine performance, operational and maintenance data, will give you the knowledge to effectively perform these tasks within our Condition Monitoring Program and support a Safe & Reliable operation of our refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick. As you progress in this position, your success will be achieving ISO Vibration Analyst Category 2 certification.

Your Responsibilities:

Monitor the heath of rotating and reciprocating machinery using various technologies such as vibration analysis, performance analysis and oil analysis.

Troubleshoot machinery issues.

Provide repair work scope and recommendations to operations and maintenance planning based on findings.

Review assembly drawings, P&ID’s, specifications and other documents for the repair and procurement of rotating equipment.

Support operations with startup and operation of critical rotating machinery.

Provide technical support to maintenance teams during equipment repair and overhauls.

Machinery Analysis group is presently composed of Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Technicians and Millwrights.

Candidate would need to interact with field operators, area teams, maintenance technicians, millwrights and other skilled trades.

​Your Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude, hands on experience would be an asset.

Strong computer skills, experience with advanced functions in Excel. MS Visual Basic for Applications would be an asset.

Able to spend long periods outside, walking long distances while carrying equipment (15 lbs.).

Able to work well with a team but capable of working for long periods (entire shift) independently with minimal supervision.

Experience in an industrial environment and familiarity with motors, turbines, pumps and compressors.

Your Experience:

Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Journeyman trade status.

Up to 2 years of industrial plant operation or maintenance experience.

Working knowledge of rotating equipment and vibration fundamentals, Vibration Analyst certification (ISO 18436) would be considered an asset.

Machinery Lubrication Technician or Analyst certification would be considered an asset.

Experience with handheld data collectors for centrifugal or reciprocating machines and analysis software would be considered an asset.

Experience with Oracle eAM or similar computerized maintenance management systems would be considered an asset.
