Job Description & Summary A fluid and fast-paced risk landscape means organizations are constantly facing new and unfamiliar challenges. Our Risk Assurance practice enables clients to strengthen their risk management, process and control capabilities to support strategic growth. We are seeking a Senior Associate who is interested in joining our team and supporting some of Canada’s largest institutions with their risk agenda.
Increasingly, organizations rely on complex relationships with third parties to perform critical business services. Getting value for money from these relationships and the associated contracts, while ensuring effective performance and managing risk, is an ongoing challenge for most businesses, particularly in today’s economic environment. The Vendor Risk & Value Management (VRVM) team at PwC helps to support clients in maximizing the value from relationships with suppliers and managing the complex risks introduced through the utilization of third-parties. This results in a diverse range of client projects, interactions and experiences on a day-to-day basis.

Senior Associates are responsible for the day-to-day execution of projects and the delivery of excellent client service, whilst supporting the growth of the team. We are looking to appoint future leaders, with a drive to deliver high-quality results and solve our clients problems. This role will provide the individual with exceptional opportunity for growth and development within the team and firm.
Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As a Vendor Risk & Value Management Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Third Party Risk Management framework review, design and build;
Operating model review, design and build;
Third party risk assessments;
Third party risk management technology implementations;
Third party risk monitoring & alert management;
Contract renegotiation and exit strategies;
Contract management in mergers & acquisitions;
Risk-management process review and build;
Contract cost reduction & recovery audits;
Contract risk assessments;
Contract portfolio risk assessments;
Implementing commercial contract assurance functions.
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
Relevant professional designation(s)/certification(s) that establish credibility and capability in the market (CA, PMP etc.);
Clear understanding of risk concepts e.g. risk assessment processes, risk management, risk mitigation
Understanding of third party contracting, contract management and negotiation activities across a range of different contracting categories;
Experience of contract/third party reviews, audit testing and internal contracting controls and processes;
Experience in managing projects and teams within a large enterprise environment/business setting is preferable; and
Potential experience in business development, sales or client relationship management.
Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects/clients at once;
Understanding of project management components, including job costing, monitoring and reporting;
Ability to effectively work as part of a team;
Strong interpersonal skills are required to manage key client relationships and work collaboratively at a fast pace;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential (English);
Candidate should demonstrate a strong sense of ownership of allocated tasks
Coaching of junior staff on engagements and more broadly on technical components of the role
Leading self is an important responsibility of a Senior Associate within the team
Additional overtime hours required;
