Precision Agronomist:

What will you do:
- Build your territory by leveraging existing relationships and developing new ones.
- Make better decisions by using your suggestions and proprietary information to enable your customers to improve their operations.
- Provide weekly updates and information.
- Provide test plots and demonstration platforms.
- Crop scouting.
- Collect and use spatial data.
- Farm planning and crop rotation strategy.
- Product and resource positioning.
- Fertility, crop protection, seed, crop health, and production practice recommendations and prescriptions.
- Annual data review.
- Supervise seasonal interns who will help you in your field.
- Work with the research team to establish a research project in your area.
Successful candidates for precision agronomists will have the following conditions:
- A four-year bachelor’s degree in agronomy, agribusiness, or a related field with 2 years of experience, or an associate degree with 5 years of experience.
- The current CCA or the willingness to obtain a CCA within 1 year of employment.
- Passion for exceeding customer needs and the ability to influence the completion of sales and help customers make the best decisions.
- Working knowledge of precision agriculture tools and practices is preferred.
- Good at dealing with challenging customers and acting as a change agent to help them improve their operations.
- Strong listening skills can carefully and effectively understand unique customer needs and combine them with compelling value propositions.
- Oral communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
Precision Agronomist Salary:
Salary is based on experience, existing relationships, and overall market potential. Candidates with 2-5 years of experience can usually get a base salary of US$60,000-80,000, while candidates over 5 years can get a base salary of up to US$110,000. In addition to the basic salary, all agronomists have the ability to receive uncapped bonuses based on the growth of the territory and the maintenance of existing customers.
